EPSC Outstanding Poster Contest (OPC)
Posters will be judged based on 1) the relevance of the study, 2) the scientific accuracy, as well as 3) the clarity of presentation. Participation is open to all BSc or MSc students, PhD candidates, as well as scientists that obtained their last degree after 1 January 2026.
Participants need to be first and presenting author of the submitted abstract (please note that a shared award with co-authors or team members is not possible) and register either as on-site or virtual participant. Each author can register only ONE abstract for the OPC at EPSC2026.
Both the abstract submission form and the letter of schedule will automatically contain a link to register for the EPSC OPC. The OPC registration is only considered for those abstracts that are selected to be presented as a poster. If the above-mentioned conditions of eligibility are fulfilled, you may sign up for the contest by 14 August 2026.
Please note, that all OPC participants are requested to upload a PDF of their poster by 2 September 2026, 23:59 CEST as "Presentation file" and "Supplementary material" in the presentation upload tool (only A0 posters are accepted for both on-site and virtual participants). Virtual posters will be printed in A3 and displayed in the poster session halls; on-site posters need to be accessible online throughout the week of EPSC2026.
Next to the abstract information of the participating OPC abstract, the OPC evaluation tool will allow judges to evaluate the OPC poster between Monday, 7 September, and Friday, 11 September 2026. In general, all OPC participants are clearly indicated as such in the online programme after upload of their poster. A short evaluation form is then directly integrated into the online abstract HTML page for easy access.
Judges are selected from the pool of SOC members and session chairs. Excluded from submitting evaluations for a specific poster presentation are:
- BSc, MSc, and PhD students
- Co-authors of the poster presentation
- Individuals who share the same affiliation as the first author.
Evaluations that go against the guidelines will be removed before selecting the OPC awardees and can cause disqualification of the contestant if not enough evaluations are available.
As a prize, each awardee will receive a registration waiver that can be used for either the EPSC2027 or EPSC2028
In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the poster award coordinator Noah Jäggi by email.
